Metalizing

Metallization

“Metalization” is a term that generally refers to the coating or plating of an object or surface with metal. This process is generally applied to increase corrosion resistance, strengthen the strength of the surface or obtain an aesthetic metal appearance. Metallization may involve different techniques and application methods. Here are some common metallization methods:
Galvanization
This is a method of metallization usually done by coating steel or iron objects with zinc. Galvanizing protects the object from corrosive environments.
Nickel Plated
Nickel plating is used to apply a layer of nickel to the surface of the object. This process provides an aesthetic appearance, wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
Chrome Plated
Chrome plating is a metallization method commonly used in the automotive industry. By applying a chrome layer to the surface of the object, brightness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance are achieved.
Electrodeposition
In this method, a metal object is coated with another metal through electrolysis. This allows for the controlled deposition of the desired metal onto the surface of the object.
Aluminum Coating
An aluminum oxide layer is created by applying an oxidation process to the surface of aluminum objects. This layer increases the object's resistance to corrosion.
Metallic Powder Coating
This is achieved by electrostatically applying pre-prepared metal powders to the surface of the object. The object is then subjected to heat treatment, allowing the powder to melt and the metal coating to form.
